Junior hockey which best suits their living arrangements.
What qualities do you look for in prospects during the recruiting process?
Hard working-consistent, talent level, academics.
What qualities are lacking in most of the prospects which you reject?
Talent, discipline.
What is the most difficult part of recruiting?
Trying to convince a prospect that our program will better suit him than other programs.
What traits do your successful student athletes bring to the program?
Enjoyable to be with on the ice and off. Good with public.
Why do some of your recruited athletes fail to succeed?
Could not adjust to rigors of classroom and of college hockey all at once.
What advice can you offer to high school “age” hockey players that aspire to play at the college level?
Make sure you improve your talent level at every stage but not at the expense of your grades.
